The La Casa Photography Club announced the winners of this years contest
Below is the presentations with copies of the winning photos
Beginers
CASA PHOTO CLUB
Submitted by Bill Gordon
Well, we had another successful photo contest! We had 19 people submit photos:
6 Beginners and 13 Advanced.
A Beginner is one who has not won any prize in any of our previous contests. Beginners who won a prize this year will automatically move up to Advanced in the future.
The club had 28 members this year.
The awards were presented to the winners in the Rec Hall on March 4 which made for a very special evening.
The winners were excited to come forward to accept a certificate for their prize winning photo.
There were awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and Honorable Mention in each category.
Each person told a little about the photo as they accepted their certificate: who it was, location and why it was special to the photographer.
All photos were displayed in the Rec Hall for approximately two weeks following the Awards Night.
Attached to each photo was the name of the photographer and any prize
The club members want to thank Mary Sawyer, contest chairperson; Marilyn Noeker, assistant to Mary, and Carolyn Farrar, who printed the certificates. Last but not least, Jill VanAntwerp, club secretary, who did everything else.
We must not forget the judges who had the difficult job of actually deciding which photo won those 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention places in each category. Not an easy task at all!
The judges were Craig Billings and Tom Carr from Holiday Park and David Sutton
Below is the presentation of the winners in every classification and category.
Start thinking about your entry for next year! Bigger and Better is our goal!
The March 10 th meeting was well attended. The assignment that month was to take a photo and do something crazy with it on a computer.
We have members with talent and imagination.
Those members who had winning photos brought them on a flash drive and told us a little about them.
We also viewed a CD from The Art of Travel Photography.
This lesson was Faces and Places.
