Events and Notices Channel — Did You Know?

November 21, 2015 by Tim Davis

You may or may not be aware of our Events and Notices Channel, available here, that provides clubs and events a place to publicize their activities.

What you may not know is you have the option to sit and watch all the slides, the same way Comcast 195 operates, OR you can:

  • click on the slide with your mouse and quickly advance to the next slide, OR
  • go to the pull-down menu at the bottom of the slide screen where you will see a slide number, click on it, and you will see a list of all the slides. You can then pick and choose which ones to view.

What does this mean for our users? It’s a lot easier to find an event notice without having to sit and look at all the slides. You can control what you want to look at, and how you look at it.

What does this mean for our clubs and events? If you aren’t posting on the Events and Notices channel here at lacasaroc.com, maybe you should.

If you haven’t taken a look at our Events and Notices Channel, we suggest you may want to. Particularly since Comcast 195 may be going away soon.

Line Dancing Etiquette – January 2015

January 10, 2015 by Tim Davis

by Cheryl Crawford

Line Dancers Etiquette

Line dancing is such great fun! If you have ever been to a dance at La Casa you know just how many enjoy it here. There are times when it can be a little dangerous too. Unlike partner dancing, where your partner can redirect you to avoid others, there is no one to ‘watch your back’ when you line dance.

Dancers, please consider:

  • There are times when two different line dances are being done on the dance floor at the same time.
  • These lines sometimes converge toward each other because of the choreography of their dances through turns or wall changes.
  • We are each focusing on our dance and cannot always see a neighbor until we are upon them.

When dancers allow sufficient space between the different line dancing groups, along the side and behind them, we can all fully enjoy ourselves and our line dancing at La Casa and avoid potential mishap!

Thank you

How Clean is Your Cruise Ship? Know Before You Go – Dec. 2014

December 17, 2014 by Tim Davis

Planning a cruise in the near future? There has been a lot of press about the spread of gastrointestinal illnesses (GI) on cruise ships. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) manages the Vessel Sanitation Program to assist the cruise ship industry in the prevention and control of GI outbreaks on their ships.

So how is the industry doing? You can check for yourself by reviewing inspection scores for many of the cruise ship lines that operate from US ports.

Go to the Vessel Sanitation Program page of the CDC and you can review inspection reports for ships, read various publications about the program and guidelines, and even get tips on staying healthy on your next cruise.
