FUTURE OF LA CASA COMMITTEE (FLCC)
MINUTES – October 13, 2021
CALL TO ORDER At the request of Vice Chair Hank Madura who was attending remotely Gary Peterson, called the meeting to order at 1:15PM. The following were present. Members: Gary Peterson (recorder), Jeff Blake, Phil McGouldrick and Hank Madura. John Sousa and Paul Moshano and HOA Liaison Dan Mahoney were absent. HOA Board President Tim Davis also attended. Some absences likely resulted from a miscommunication of the Zoom meeting link.
MINUTES: Minutes to the FLCC meeting held September 9, 2021 had been previously distributed. There being no corrections or additions suggested, Gary Peterson motioned to accept the minutes as distributed. Motion seconded by Phil McGouldrick and passed unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS:
40 Acres Feasibility Study:
a) Walking and Bike paths The Committee’s report titled “Feasibility of Low Impact Development to the $40 Acres – Walking and Biking Trails” was submitted to the board last May. The report was complete and and the cost was estimated at $45k. The Committee’s recommendation to solicit engineering firms to develop preliminary drawings and specifications sufficient for permit review and to present those documents to the county for their feedback failed. No further work will be done on this project until requested by the HOA to do so.
b) Rental Storage Units – According to an E-mail from Dan Mahoney, The HOA wants the Committee to make a final determination on the feasibility of the rental storage units given the input from shareholders on the last survey. 32 residents expressed interest and the other responses were negative.
NEW BUSINESS:
Committee Reorganization: Hank in his Vice Chair position has agreed to act as Chair for the remaining season, however reorganization will be postponed until all members can be present.
LIAISON COMMENTS: The Committee Liaison was unable to attend. However HOA President Tim Davis did express frustration that so much about the need for hydraulic studies on the 40 acres and La Casa is garbled with conflicting inputs from various sources.
CHAIR COMMENTS: Hank asked that we post our vacancy so that applicants can be discussed at our next meeting. Gary said he would have announcements up by this weekend.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business Gary Peterson adjourned the meeting at 1:45 PM. The next Committee meeting is scheduled for 1PM on November 10 in the Front Office Board Room. For those who will attend the meeting remotely the zoom address doesn’t change. It is
