FUTURE OF LA CASA COMMITTEE (FLCC) MINUTES
September 9, 2021

CALL TO ORDER Joe Holovachuk Chair, called the meeting to order at 1PM. The following were present. Members: Joe Holovachuk, Gary Peterson (recorder), Jeff Blake, Paul Moshano, Phil McGouldrick and John Souza. Hank Madura and HOA Liaison Dan Mahoney were absent. HOA Board President Tim Davis also attended.

MINUTES: Minutes to the FLCC meeting held May 12, 2021 had been previously distributed. There being no corrections or additions suggested, Gary Peterson motioned to accept the minutes as distributed. Motion seconded by Phil McGouldrick and passed unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS:

40 Acres Feasibility Study: a) Walking and Bike paths A motion to fund constructing a nature trail as proposed by the FLCC was not approved at an earlier meeting of the HOA Board. The Board had concerns about the trail’s location near the settling pond, insurance impacts, and the cost of the project at a time budgets are being trimmed. No further work will be done on this project until requested by the HOA to do so.

b) Rental Storage Units – Joe reported that the website had received about 55 responses regarding storage unit rentals. 32 residents expressed interest and the other responses were negative. Results were reported at a previous HOA meeting. No further work will be done on this project until requested by the HOA to do so.

NEW BUSINESS:

Funding Availability for New Projects Joe Holovachuk reported that the HOA Board was significantly reducing unnecessary projects until the Reserve and other funds needed to finance new projects are replenished. As a result, during the next season the FLCC will probably not have reason to meet until asked by the HOA to research a specific issue. More discussion at our next meeting when our HOA Liaison can advise us.

Acceptance of Joe Holovachuk’s resignation from the Committee Joe Holovachuk submitted his resignation from the Committee.

Motion: John Souza motioned the Committee excepts with regret Joe’s letter of resignation. Gary Peterson seconded the motion which passed unanimously.

Hank Madura is presently Vice Chair and will assume Chair until the Committee can reorganize at our next meeting.

LIAISON COMMENTS: Speaking for Dan Mahoney, Tim Davis thanked Joe for all the work he and his wife Terry have done for the park over the years. In addition to his membership and Chair of the Futures Committee, Joe has served as Treasurer of the Activity Association, made many contributions to the Boat and Fishing club as a member and Commodore. Terry has made huge contributions through her service as a HOA Board member and other organizations. The park will miss their involvement in making La Casa a better place. Those sentiments were shared by all members of the Futures Committee.

ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business Joe Holovachuk adjourned the meeting at 1:28 PM. The next Committee meeting is scheduled October 13, 2021 in the Front Office Board Room. For those who will attend the meeting remotely the zoom address doesn’t change. It is
