I’m writing this in the second week in September and we are beginning to see some familiar faces as people are returning to La Casa. During October we will welcome many more residents as they return. Due to slower activity the LCRE office is now open Monday-Thursday and will be closed on Friday.
Home sales across the nation seem to continue decreasing due to changes in interest rates for home mortgages; however, this has not affected La Casa since the majority of our closings are cash sales.
During the month of August LCRE closed 4 shareholder homes compared to 4 in August 2021. Currently we have 5 homes for sale and 4 scheduled for closing during September. The average sale price for shareholder homes in August 2022 was $247,473 as compared $129,375 in August 2021. Year to date, we have closed 42 shareholder homes as compared to 55 at this time last year. So, as you can see, sales are not progressing at the same pace as the previous year, but prices are doing very well.
As always we look forward to seeing our friends and neighbors returning and enjoying the activities La Casa has to offer.
