News from your Activity Association
By Tim Davis, President
Fall may be approaching and the weather may be turning a bit cooler, but it’s still plenty HOT in La Casa. We have an entire month of activities scheduled for you in October, beginning with the annual Oktoberfest dinner and dance on Saturday, October 18 with Happy Hour at 5 and dinner at 6. Reserved seats will go on sale before the October 1st coffee hour and attendance will be limited to 288 people, so please get your tickets early. The cost is $16.00 for a delicious catered dinner, dancing, soft drinks and your favorite golden beverage. The final date for ticket sales will be before the October 15th coffee hour.
Then get ready for one of our most popular and well attended events: Brigid’s Cross will return for another Happy Hour from 3 to 5:30 on Wednesday afternoon, October 29th. Advance reserved seating tickets for $5.00 will go on sale before the October 15th coffee hour. As this event is sure to be sold out early, get your tickets while they are still hot – chances are there will be none left to sell at the door.
Remember, the regular Wednesday morning coffee hours have returned each week. We have a full schedule planned for October and there is a list of sponsors here in this newsletter. The coffee hours are a great way to find out what services vendors offer, what is going on in La Casa, and also a great way to meet your neighbors (and listen to some corny jokes). Sign-up sheets are on the bulletin board next to the drinking fountain.
A personal thanks to HOA Board Member Carol Curley, the La Casa HOA, the Boat and Fishing Club, the Veterans of La Casa, La Casa Real Estate (LREC), the Voices of La Casa and our Activity Association for stepping up to find a solution to the decoration of the front of this Park for Christmas. Now we will be able to welcome the citizens of our surrounding communities as they tour La Casa during our annual Holiday Open House on December 15th and 16th. This proves that everyone in La Casa volunteers in some special way and all these efforts are greatly appreciated. La Casa was founded on VOLUNTEERISM and our residents continue to shine!
Your Activity Association Board of Directors also wants to thank everyone who volunteered and helped make this Summer so successful and fun – we all had a great time! We will continue to welcome your comments, your help and your suggestions. Over the next few months we anxiously await the return of our many friends who have been gone for the Summer. I hope you all are ready for a GREAT 2014-2015 Season!
