Web Site Terms and Conditions of Use

1. Terms

By accessing this web site, you are agreeing to be bound by these web site Terms and Conditions of Use, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site. The materials contained in this web site are protected by applicable copyright and trade mark law.

2. Use License

  1. Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) on La Casa Active Adult Resident Community’s web site (“the Site”) for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:
    1. modify or copy the materials;
    2. use the materials for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial);
    3. attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on the Site;
    4. remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials; or
    5. transfer the materials to another person or “mirror” the materials on any other server.
  2. This license shall automatically terminate if you violate any of these restrictions and may be terminated by the Site at any time. The Site may revise these terms of use for its web site at any time without notice. By using this web site you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these Terms and Conditions of Use.

8. Posting Comments on the Site

As you know, being online is all about the conversation. But without a few simple ground rules, that conversation can turn into a shouting match that discourages others from entering into the fray.

So here is the comment policy for this site. By posting on the La Casa community, you agree to the following:

  1. You must register to comment. You can log-in via our Log in Page.
  2. You may not post anonymously.  Why would anyone want to post anonymously? If you participate here, you must do so with your real name, not with a clever user name.
  3. You may post follow-up questions. If you have a question, chances are you are not alone. Others are likely thinking similarly. Therefore, we would rather receive your comments here on our community site than via email. It is a better use of our time to address everyone at once rather than answer several similar emails.
  4. You may disagree with what is posted. We  welcome debate. However, I ask that if you disagree with us—or anyone else, for that matter—do so in a way that is respectful. In our opinion, there is way too much shouting in the public square to tolerate it here.
  5. We reserve the right to delete your comments. This is our resident community site. We don’t have an obligation to publish your comments. The First Amendment gives you the right to express your opinions on your site not ours.  Specifically, we will delete your comments if you post something that is, in our editors’ opinion, (a) snarky; (b) off-topic; (c) libelous, defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, profane, pornographic, offensive, false, misleading, or that otherwise violates or encourages others to violate our sense of decorum and civility or any law, including intellectual property laws; or (d) “spam,” i.e., an attempt to advertise, solicit, or otherwise promote goods and services.
  6. You retain ownership of your comments. The La Casa community does not own them and The La Casa community expressly disclaims any and all liability that may result from them. By commenting on the La Casa community site, you agree that you retain all ownership rights to what you post here and you relieve us from any and all liability that may result from those postings.
  7. You grant the La Casa Community a license to post your comments. This license is worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive, and royalty-free. You grant us the right to store, use, transmit, display, publish, reproduce, and distribute your comments in any format, including but not limited to a blog, in a book, a video, or presentation.

To clarify, you agree you will NOT do the following:

  1. You will not post unauthorized commercial communications (such as spam).
  2. You will not collect users’ content or information, or otherwise access the Site, using automated means (such as harvesting bots, robots, spiders, or scrapers) without our prior permission.
  3. You will not engage in unlawful multi-level marketing, such as a pyramid scheme, on the Site.
  4. You will not upload viruses or other malicious code.
  5. You will not solicit login information or access an account belonging to someone else.
  6. You will not bully, intimidate, or harass any user.
  7. You will not post content that: is hate speech, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.
  8. You will not develop or operate a third-party application containing alcohol-related, dating or other mature content (including advertisements).
  9. You will not use the Site to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.
  10. You will not do anything that could disable, overburden, or impair the proper working or appearance of the Site, such as a denial of service attack or interference with page rendering or other Site functionality.
  11. You will not facilitate or encourage any violations of this Statement or our policies.
 In short, our goal is to host interesting conversations with caring, honest, and respectful people. We believe this simple comments policy will facilitate this.

9. Governing Law

Any claim relating to the Site shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Your privacy is very important to us. Accordingly, we have developed this Policy in order for you to understand how we collect, use, communicate and disclose and make use of personal information. The following outlines our privacy policy.

  • Before or at the time of collecting personal information, we will identify the purposes for which information is being collected.
