The Veterans of La Casa started meeting as a formal group in 2009. Four veterans got together and wanted to see if there was any interest in starting a veterans group in La Casa. What started out with those four interested veterans is now a group with over 140 members that is growing stronger every year.
Our mission is to organize and manage a fraternal Veterans Association, which promotes camaraderie within the membership.
The primary purpose of the Veterans of La Casa organization, is to support and honor the United States Military Services, perpetuate the honor and memory of both its deceased and disadvantaged veterans, and provide a social outlet for the members and their companions. The club will also provide an avenue to disperse information to its members and serve as an advocacy for Veterans and their spouses.
Our current dues are $10 a year. We meet at the Rec Hall the third Monday of each month, October through April/May. We provide lunch with a beverage.
We strive to keep our fundraising events to include fun for everyone. We always have a Veterans Day Dance and a special ceremony on Veterans Day, November 11th. We enjoy cooking a pancake breakfast and also have a Spaghetti Dinner/Dance that are well received within the community of LaCasa. We would love to meet you and welcome you into our Veterans Club.
